Ruger engineered the SR22 for true ambidextrous operation. The safety/decocker and magazine release are mirrored on both sides, and the external spurred hammer is easy to thumb regardless of dominant hand.
The blowback, DA/SA action pairs a skeletonized trigger with a smooth double-action pull and a crisp single-action break. This setup lets shooters practice multiple trigger modes without changing platforms.
A lightweight aluminum alloy slide with front and rear serrations cycles reliably on standard-velocity .22 LR ammunition. The black anodized finish matches the polymer frame for a cohesive look and solid corrosion resistance.
The 3.5-inch stainless steel barrel is press-fit into the frame for consistent alignment. Because this Model 3600 is the non-threaded variant, it maintains a clean muzzle profile ideal for everyday range use.
Interchangeable rubber-overmold grip sleeves accommodate different hand sizes, while the screw-adjustable rear sight and pinned white-dot front sight provide a clear sight picture. A three-slot Picatinny rail accepts lights or lasers for low-light work.
