The FN 509 Tactical brings duty-grade reliability and mission-ready features to a civilian-legal 9mm package. Derived from FN’s U.S. Army MHS submission, this full-size striker-fired pistol pairs a cold-hammer-forged, threaded barrel with suppressor-height tritium night sights and a slide cut for the FN Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System. Fully ambidextrous controls and high-capacity 24-round magazines round out a platform built for serious use.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Fouling: Mild Fouling - Light buildup of fouling or dirt.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Some mild carbon buildup is visible at a few points on the slide and barrel, and the optic cover plate is not present.

At the heart of the 509 Tactical is a 4.5-inch stainless steel barrel that is cold-hammer-forged for longevity, threaded 1/2-28 UNEF for muzzle devices, and finished with a recessed crown and polished feed ramp for reliable cycling.
The slide wears a durable black PVD finish and features deep front and rear serrations for positive manipulation. FN’s Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System accepts multiple miniature red-dot footprints while keeping suppressor-height tritium night sights in view.
The polymer frame uses glass-fiber reinforcement for strength and sports aggressive texturing plus interchangeable backstraps to fit different hand sizes. Fully ambidextrous slide stop and magazine release controls accommodate left- or right-handed shooters, with the mag release reversible for additional flexibility.
High-capacity steel magazines—four 24-rounders and one 17-rounder—give the 509 Tactical one of the largest on-board capacities available in a duty-sized 9mm pistol. The striker-fired, pre-cocked DAO trigger includes an integrated safety lever for consistent, straightforward operation.
