Introduced mid-2025, the Next Generation 1911 series represents Kimber’s forward leap into external-extractor reliability while staying true to the single-stack 1911 footprint. Chambered in 9mm Luger with a 9 + 1 capacity, it offers reduced recoil and quicker follow-up shots without altering the familiar Government feel.
The slide is precision-machined from stainless steel, carried in a satin silver KimPro II finish. A flat-top profile, front and rear cocking serrations, and longitudinal anti-glare serrations aid manipulation and sight focus. An optics cut accommodates popular RMR-footprint red dots, while a red fiber-optic front sight and black fixed rear notch provide a bright, uncluttered sight picture out of the box.
Accuracy is driven by a 5-inch match-grade stainless barrel with a bushing-style lock-up, target crown, and 1:16 left-hand twist. Kimber’s GT Performance skeletonized trigger breaks between 4 – 5 lb, delivering a crisp, repeatable pull suited to both defensive and target roles.
