Colt Python 6" .357 Mag Revolver, Royal Blue, 1981 Production
Produced in 1981 during the sought-after K-prefix run, this Colt Python embodies the craftsmanship and finish that define early 1980s examples. It wears the factory Royal Blue polish, features a vent-rib barrel with a full under-lug, and retains its original checkered walnut target stocks. Collectors value these hand-fitted revolvers for their exceptionally smooth double-action pull and crisp single-action break, and this specimen remains in very good condition with its factory box and manual.

The K-prefix serial confirms 1981 manufacture, placing this revolver squarely in the era many enthusiasts regard as the Python’s pinnacle. Each gun from this period received extensive hand-fitting, including a leaf mainspring that contributes to the model’s acclaimed trigger press.
The 6" carbon-steel barrel sports a vent rib and full under-lug, adding both rigidity and balance. Recessed cylinder charge holes and the traditional clockwise rotation reflect Colt’s attention to detail.
A Colt Royal Blue polish covers the frame, barrel, and six-shot fluted cylinder, giving the revolver its deep, mirror-like luster. The pinned ramp front sight and micrometer-click adjustable rear sight provide a precise sight picture.
Checkered walnut target stocks with Colt medallions complete the classic Python profile, while the spur hammer and smooth trigger shoe underline its dual-mode double-action/single-action operation.
