Colt reintroduced the snub-nose Python in 2024, making this 2.5-inch Classic the first factory short-barrel version in nearly two decades. The forged stainless barrel carries a full-length under-lug with a lightening window for balanced weight and fast target transitions.
The current-production frame contains roughly 30 percent more steel in the top strap than legacy Pythons, delivering added strength for steady magnum use. A redesigned action replaces the old V-spring system with fewer parts, yielding a smooth double-action pull and crisp single-action break.
Sights are fully user-serviceable: a removable red-ramp front blade slots into the same dovetail used on the new Cobra and King Cobra lines, while the rear unit features a square-notch blade adjustable for windage and elevation.
