Built by HS Produkt in Croatia and finished with a black Melonite-treated slide, it features the GripZone textured frame, a red fiber-optic front sight, and multiple passive safeties that make the XD line popular with defensive shooters.

At just 6.25 inches long, the XD Mod.2 Sub-Compact offers deep-carry dimensions while retaining a double-stack grip that feeds from flush 9- or 12-round magazines, plus a 13-round X-Tension for duty-sized capacity. The forged carbon-steel slide wears Springfield’s durable black Melonite finish and carries both front and rear cocking serrations for secure manipulation.
The Mod.2 series adds the ergonomic GripZone frame with three distinct texturing zones that lock the hand in place without abrasiveness. A high undercut behind the trigger guard and re-profiled beavertail lower the bore axis for better recoil control, particularly valuable in a lightweight .45 ACP platform.
Safeties are completely passive: a grip safety, a hinged trigger safety lever, an internal striker block, and visible/tactile loaded-chamber and striker-status indicators. This design preserves the consistent striker-fired trigger pull while providing redundant protections against accidental discharge.
Sights consist of a bright red fiber-optic front blade paired with a steel, low-profile combat rear sight featuring two white dots. Together they offer fast target acquisition in varied lighting without snagging on clothing or holsters.
An integral single-slot accessory rail ahead of the trigger guard allows the mounting of compact lights or lasers, rounding out a sub-compact package ready for concealed carry or home defense right out of the box.
