The Kraken’s multi-caliber architecture uses Cadex’s patented breech-side barrel-change system to maintain zero when swapping barrels. This rifle is set up for .338 Lapua Magnum with a CIP-length 3.850 in magazine interface and ships with steel DSSF magazines designed specifically for the Kraken system.
Its barrel is a 27 in Bartlein with single-point cut 5R rifling, stepped/shouldered heavy contour, and fluting. The barrel is threaded and fitted with the Cadex MX1 3-port muzzle brake. A 1:9.5 twist supports long .338 projectiles, and the mirage control forend tube helps manage heat along the sightline.
The action centers on a 3-lug bolt with a 60-degree throw, helical flutes, and a large rounded knurled D-type knob. The Cadex DX2 Evo trigger is adjustable and can be run as a single- or two-stage unit. An ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release offers fast, positive changes.
Built on a 6061-T6 aluminum chassis finished in FDE/tan, the reverse-folding stock includes an adjustable cheekpiece, adjustable buttpad, and a rear monopod/bag-rider rail. A full-length 20 MOA Picatinny top rail and a center accessory/bipod rail provide mounting surfaces. Length of pull is 12.75 in, with approximate factory specs of 47.0 in OAL (38.5 in folded) and about 15.9 lb. Markings note Mfg: CADEX Inc. CANADA 2023 and Importer: CADex Defense, Swanton, VT.
