Glock 22C Gen 3 .40 S&W Compensated Pistol – Discontinued Austrian Factory-Ported Model
The Glock 22C Gen 3 is the factory-compensated version of Glock’s full-size .40 S&W duty pistol. Twin barrel ports and matching slide slots vent gas upward, helping reduce muzzle rise and keeping follow-up shots flat. This discontinued variant is no longer imported, making it a notable find for shooters and collectors who want an original Austrian 22C with Gen 3 ergonomics and Tenifer-hardened slide.

Factory compensation is the headline feature: two ports in the 4.49 inch barrel align with slide slots to direct gas upward, mitigating recoil in the stout .40 S&W chambering. Unlike aftermarket cuts, these ports were machined at Glock’s Austrian facility and carry the same Tenifer treatment as the slide.
This pistol sits on the proven Gen 3 frame with finger grooves, a single-slot accessory rail, and Glock’s Safe-Action striker-fired system. The polymer frame keeps weight manageable while providing the durability that Glock is known for.
The slide is treated with Glock’s Tenifer process, achieving a surface hardness around 64 HRC and a matte gray-black appearance. Internally, the barrel uses hexagonal rifling that pairs well with jacketed bullets and cleans easily.
An aftermarket rear sight with two green inserts replaces the factory unit, creating a bright three-dot picture when paired with the original white-dot front post. The sight upgrade complements the pistol’s compensator cuts without altering the slide’s integrity.
Because the 22C model has been discontinued, original examples in solid mechanical condition—especially those retaining their factory ports and Tenifer finish—are increasingly hard to source. This pistol offers that rarity while remaining ready for range use or collection display.
