The AK-V platform is a semi-automatic, blowback-operated 9mm AK-pattern pistol with a forged front trunnion and forged bolt/carrier set into a 1 mm stamped steel receiver. Built in the USA, it brings AK ergonomics to a compact pistol format while maintaining durability and serviceable components.
Its 9.75 in nitrided 4150 steel barrel is threaded 1/2x28 and fitted with a two-port tanker brake. The 1:10 twist rate is well-suited for 9mm loads, and the nitrided finish enhances barrel longevity. Threading adds compatibility with common 9mm muzzle devices.
Controls and furniture are AK-focused and user-friendly: an AK-pattern paddle magazine release, a manual safety with S-A-F selector markings, and Magpul MOE AKM polymer lower handguard paired with a Magpul AK-pattern polymer pistol grip. An adjustable 6-position brace with a QD socket provides flexible support.
The hinged, full-length Picatinny railed dust cover complements the hooded front post and fixed rear iron sights. The pistol uses PSA U9/CZ Scorpion-pattern magazines and includes last-round bolt hold-open functionality. Capacity is 35+1, and seven 35-round magazines are included.
