What's Included
- Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield 9mm pistol (First Generation, no thumb safety)
- 1 factory 8-round stainless-steel single-stack magazine with extended finger-rest baseplate
This Shield is a first-generation model configured without a manual thumb safety. It uses a striker-fired system with a hinged trigger and integrated trigger safety. The pistol measures 6.1 in overall length with a 3.1 in barrel and an unloaded weight of approximately 19 oz, providing a slim, carry-friendly footprint with 8+1 capacity using the included magazine.
Durability and corrosion resistance come from a Melonite-treated stainless-steel slide and barrel finished in black. The frame is polymer with an embedded stainless-steel chassis for rigidity and consistent lockup.
Maintenance and safety features include a sear deactivation lever that allows takedown without pressing the trigger and a loaded-chamber viewport on the top of the slide. The slide also carries the factory roll mark noting: "CAUTION - CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED."
Controls and sights are straightforward and easy to run: wave-pattern rear slide serrations (no front serrations), an external extractor, and drift-dovetailed white-dot sights (one-dot front, two-dot rear) for a clear sight picture. The black finish and clean lines complete the Shield’s practical, purpose-built design.
