Built on 7075-T6 forged upper and lower receivers, the rifle follows the proven direct-impingement operating system and weighs in at roughly 6.5–6.9 lb, keeping it nimble for rapid handling.
The 16-inch chrome-moly-vanadium barrel is threaded 1/2-28 and ships with a factory flash hider, offering standard compatibility with muzzle devices. Smith & Wesson’s factory-marked 13-inch free-float aluminum rail provides uninterrupted top rail space and plenty of M-LOK slots for accessories while helping the rifle stay cool under sustained fire.
A two-tone finish pairs a hard-coat anodized black receiver set with flat dark earth Magpul furniture, including the MOE pistol grip and a 6-position collapsible stock that adjusts to a 10.5-inch minimum length of pull. Flip-up Magpul MBUS sights give you instant iron-sight capability the moment the rifle comes out of the box.
The serial prefix “TE” confirms a factory M&P15 lower manufactured in Springfield, Massachusetts, reinforcing its authentic Smith & Wesson lineage.
