This USP Compact runs a proven short-recoil, DA/SA action with a bobbed hammer and an ambidextrous paddle magazine release for intuitive, glove-friendly handling. The Variant 1 control layout places the manual safety/decocker on the left side, matching common thumb positions for right-hand shooters.
The 3.58-inch barrel is cold-hammer-forged and uses polygonal rifling, a design that reduces fouling, extends service life, and may offer a slight velocity edge. A captive flat recoil spring with polymer buffer helps manage the .40 S&W impulse while enhancing durability.
Durable night sights from Trijicon deliver a bright three-dot picture in low light. Rear slide serrations give positive purchase for press checks or administrative handling, and the matte black finish resists glare and corrosion alike.
