The IC-A5 configuration pairs a short-stroke gas-piston system with a 2-position (normal/suppressed) gas block for tuned operation across conditions. The lower is fully ambidextrous, including the magazine release, providing mirrored controls for left- or right-handed use.
Its 16.1-inch barrel is spiral fluted, cold hammer forged, free-floated, and NiCorr treated. The barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2-type flash hider. These features are factory-correct for the IC-A5 and contribute to its durable, mission-focused build.
The MonoForge one-piece upper provides a continuous, numbered 1913 Picatinny top rail. A free-float quad-rail handguard adds four rail faces, and this rifle includes textured rail panel covers along with flip-up front and rear iron sights installed.
Furniture and controls are purpose-built: an LWRCI compact collapsible stock, polymer pistol grip with textured panels, and a BCM Gunfighter Mod 4B charging handle. The bolt carrier group is nickel-boron coated per factory spec. Receivers are aluminum, and markings include "Made in the U.S.A., Cambridge, MD." Capacity is 30+1 in 5.56mm NATO.
