This Model 98 is patterned after the Remington 870 layout and uses twin action bars for smooth cycling and strength. It ejects to the right and uses a familiar cross-bolt safety. The receiver is roll-marked "HAWK MODEL 98."
The 18.5 inch, non-ribbed barrel has a plain muzzle and shallow longitudinal serrations near the receiver. It is chambered for both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells and feeds from a fixed tubular magazine with a 5+1 capacity.
Sighting is set up with a receiver-mounted adjustable ghost-ring rear paired with a fixed blade front on a barrel block. The overall finish is matte black for low glare.
The shotgun wears a black polymer stock and polymer forend with molded checkering for grip. A ventilated recoil pad and a 14.0 inch length of pull round out the stock setup. Import marking reads IAC BILLERICA MA, with country of origin China.
