The V3 configuration delivers traditional DA/SA operation with a rear decocking button and no thumb safety. Ambidextrous slide releases and the paddle-style magazine release make the controls accessible for right- or left-handed users. A spurred hammer complements the system, and the polymer frame uses interchangeable backstrap and side panels for tunable ergonomics.
The long-slide P30L uses a 4.45 in cold hammer-forged barrel with polygonal rifling and runs a short-recoil, tilting-barrel, locked-breech action. The slide carries a hostile environment nitrocarburized finish. Fixed 3-dot iron sights include a front blade with a single dot and a rear open-notch with two dots.
A MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail is integrated into the dust cover for mounting compatible accessories. This pistol also has a frame/rail-mounted multi-port compensator installed that adds a short accessory-rail segment at the nose.
The installed flared magazine-well funnel supports confident reloads. Included magazines are HK factory steel (Made in Germany): one 22-round and two 17-round, supporting a 22+1 capacity with the extended magazine. The pistol comes in an HK factory hard case labeled "PISTOL P30L-V3 9MMX19 COMPL." and carries German DE and CIP N proof marks.
