The centerpiece of this build is the Sage International EBR Chassis (M14ALCS family). The aluminum chassis adds rigidity and integrates elongated ventilation slots, multiple sling points including a fixed front sling loop, and a polymer right-side handguard/heat shield panel. It is designed for the M1A/M14 system and retains the robust steel Springfield Armory receiver.
The 16.5 in barrel is chambered in .308 Win and is threaded at the muzzle, fitted with a three-prong flash hider featuring a knurled collar/adapter. This shorter profile keeps the rifle maneuverable while maintaining compatibility with M14/M1A detachable box magazines.
Up top, a continuous, full-length Picatinny rail provides uninterrupted mounting real estate, supplemented by additional 6 o'clock rail sections for accessories. A quick-detach receiver/top rail mount with QD levers is installed, offering secure and repeatable attachment for optics that use compatible rings or bases.
Ergonomics are modernized with a telescoping butt assembly featuring adjustable length of pull, an adjustable cheek rest, and a rubber buttpad. An AR-pattern pistol grip provides a familiar interface. The rifle keeps iron sights with an M14/M1A adjustable rear aperture, preserving a traditional sighting option.
Operation remains true to the M1A platform: a gas-operated, short-stroke piston system with a rotating bolt. The combination of the steel receiver, Sage aluminum chassis, and practical accessory rail layout results in a durable .308 configuration built for confident handling.
