The Compact submodel delivers a 12.25-inch length of pull and a black synthetic stock with textured grip and fore-end panels. It includes a recoil pad and sling swivel studs, offering a practical and durable configuration.
The 20-inch carbon steel barrel has a sporter contour with a matte blued finish, a plain crown, and is non-threaded. The barrel is marked Mayfield, Kentucky, and the visible barrel nut at the receiver junction reflects the Model 783’s assembly design.
The bolt-action system uses a two-position safety and an integral trigger safety blade. Remington’s user-adjustable CrossFire trigger is included, allowing the shooter to set pull weight to preference within its design parameters.
Feeding is via a detachable, flush-fitting box magazine with a 4+1 capacity. One factory 4-round magazine is included.
The receiver is drilled and tapped and comes with two-piece scope bases and vertically split rings already installed. The rifle has a matte blued finish and no installed iron sights. A Caldwell sling-stud–mounted bipod is installed for added stability.
