The barrel was cut to 17.25 inches, threaded 1/2x28, and a 5/8x24 thread adapter installed. This modified sporter-contour barrel provides a compact overall profile while maintaining clean, factory-quality rifling.
The action is a smooth, reliable bolt with a plunger ejector and external claw extractor. Capacity is 4+1 via an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases, and the rifle has no installed sights.
Weatherby's Griptonite synthetic stock delivers secure handling with textured grip and forend inserts, a right-hand palm swell, and a Monte Carlo profile with a raised cheekpiece. Additional touches include a Weatherby recoil pad, a pistol-grip cap with the Weatherby logo, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Made in Japan, the rifle carries clear markings: "VANGUARD," "WEATHERBY PASO ROBLES, CA," "MADE IN JAPAN," and "USE ONLY 6.5 CREEDMOOR."
