Smith & Wesson Model 15 K-38 Combat Masterpiece .38 Special Revolver – 1959 Production, 4" Pinned Barrel, Blued Finish
This early no-dash Model 15, also known as the K-38 Combat Masterpiece, left the Smith & Wesson factory in 1959. It retains pre-15-1 attributes such as a pinned, tapered 4" barrel and right-hand thread ejector rod. Blued carbon-steel construction, original diamond Magna walnut stocks, and fully adjustable sights make this full-size revolver a practical shooter with clear collector appeal.

Produced within the 1959 serial range, this no-dash Model 15 predates engineering changes that appeared later in the series, preserving classic design cues cherished by S&W enthusiasts.
The 4" pinned, tapered barrel features a serrated rib and the 1/8" Baughman Quick-Draw ramp front sight, paired with a micrometer-click rear sight for precise elevation and windage adjustments.
Carbon-steel frame, cylinder, and barrel are protected by a rich blued finish. A smooth-face, case-hardened trigger and an external hammer provide dependable double-action/single-action operation, aided by a hammer block and rebounding hammer safety system.
Factory walnut Magna stocks present checkering, a square-butt profile, diamond-center escutcheons, and silver S&W medallions—features phased out after 1968, enhancing the revolver’s period correctness.
