The PAP M70 uses Zastava’s unique Yugoslav/Serbian short-stroke gas piston, offering smooth cycling compared with traditional long-stroke AK systems. Its stamped steel receiver wears a durable matte black phosphate finish that resists corrosion and matches the barrel.
The cold-hammer-forged, 16.25-inch barrel is non-chrome-lined, prized by shooters who prefer the potential accuracy benefits of raw steel. A beech wood stock and two-slot vented lower handguard maintain the rifle’s classic appearance while providing a comfortable grip.
A hinged dust cover with an integrated, full-length Picatinny rail simplifies mounting optics without compromising field-stripping. The upgraded Tapco G2 fire-control group gives a cleaner, lighter trigger press and contributes to 922(r) compliance alongside the polymer magazine and grip.
The tangent rear sight is graduated to 1000 meters, pairing with the hooded post front sight for reliable iron-sight use when optics are not installed.
