The SPM-12 uses a break-action layout with external hammers and double triggers, delivering the straightforward manual control many shooters prefer in a coach-length side-by-side. It is a 2-round, extractor-equipped gun (no ejectors observed), with a tang safety for manual on/off control.
The steel barrels measure 20 inches and are topped by a solid, longitudinally serrated rib with a single brass bead front sight. Chambers are 2-3/4 inch. Chokes are fixed full chokes, with a "FULL CHOKE" marking on the barrel.
Stocking consists of hardwood with checkering, a semi-beavertail forend, and a black recoil pad. Length of pull is 14.5 inches, suitable for a full-size fit. The receiver and barrels are finished in blued steel.
Markings and import information are clear: "MADE IN CHINA BY JING AN" and "IMPORTED BY CAI ST. ALB. VT." The receiver is marked "SPM-12." Internal assembly numbers "1945" match on the barrel lugs, forend iron, and action. Two small drilled holes are present in the bottom rib forward of the forend.
