Part of the Smith & Wesson Third-Generation Chiefs Special CS-series, the CS9 is marked MOD CS9 on the frame with the barrel hood marked 9MM PARABELLUM. Built in the USA, it pairs an aluminum-alloy frame with a steel slide and a stainless steel barrel, all finished in a matte black presentation that suits its compact profile.
The pistol uses a short-recoil, tilting-barrel operating system and a DA/SA trigger with a slide-mounted safety/decocker. A bobbed, spurless hammer keeps the profile smooth for carry while still supporting the pistol’s traditional double-action/single-action operation.
Sights are fixed, low-profile units in dovetails front and rear for durability and a snag-resistant profile. The slide top features longitudinal anti-glare serrations, with rear-only grasping serrations for a clean forward section.
Capacity is a single-stack 7+1 in 9mm Luger. The one-piece wraparound textured synthetic grip with S&W medallions provides a secure hold on the micro-size frame. Steel-bodied magazines include finger-rest baseplates and red followers to aid loading and handling.
