Thompson/Center Contender .223 Rem Single-Shot Pistol, Factory Engraved Cat-Side Receiver, Blued, T/C 3RP Pistol Scope
This original pre-G2 Contender features the desirable cat-side receiver with factory full-body cougar-and-scroll engraving on both sides. Chambered in .223 Rem and built in the USA, it pairs a blued steel construction with a bull-profile, target-crowned barrel and iron sights. Dated by serial to 1979, it includes a Thompson/Center Arms 3RP pistol scope and a walnut target grip with checkering and an aluminum cougar head grip cap.
Condition
Overall Condition: Poor condition.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The hammer does not lock to the rear after cocking the firing pin. It will need a gunsmith evaluation. There are light signs of wear and handling, with some surface scratches.

This single-shot, break-action pistol is chambered in .223 Rem with a capacity of 1. The 10" bull barrel is steel with a bull profile and a target crown, and it wears iron sights consisting of a ramped front and a fully adjustable rear.
A Thompson/Center Arms 3RP pistol scope with a plex reticle is installed on a one-piece barrel-mounted base with rings. Because the sights and scope mount to the barrel, they retain zero with the barrel assembly.
The pistol features an external hammer and a walnut target pistol grip with checkered panels and an aluminum cougar head grip cap, complementing the engraved receiver and blued finish.
