Daniel Defense machines the 16-inch Government-profile barrel from 4150 CMV steel, cold-hammer-forges it for longevity, then chrome-lines it for corrosion resistance. The 1:7" right-hand twist optimizes stabilization of heavier 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem bullets, while the 1/2-28 TPI threads make it ready for standard muzzle devices.
The DDM4 Rail 12.0 free-float handguard secures with a 12-bolt interface that locks firmly to the upper receiver. Its uninterrupted top Picatinny rail aligns perfectly with the upper for flexible sight or accessory placement, and the slim 6061-T6 aluminum profile keeps weight down without sacrificing strength.
A mid-length gas system balances reliability with a softer recoil impulse. Combined with the direct-impingement action, shooters get fast follow-up shots and consistent ejection.
