The MCX-SPEAR LT platform uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston action that keeps fouling out of the receiver and runs cleanly with 7.62x39. A flat-blade match trigger provides a crisp break, and capacity is 30+1 with compatible AR-15–pattern 7.62x39 magazines.
The 16 inch carbon steel barrel is cold hammer forged and threaded 5/8x24, with a factory three-prong flash hider installed. Twist is 1:9.5. A free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard with a continuous 1913 Picatinny top rail offers ample room for accessories. No iron sights are installed.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety selector, magazine release, and bolt catch/release. The rifle wears a side-folding, minimalist skeletonized stock with a rubber buttpad; length of pull is 12.75 inches. Receivers are aluminum with a durable coyote anodized finish. In this configuration, typical overall length is about 34.3–34.5 inches and weight is about 7.6 lb.
