The serialized COG removable steel chassis is a core feature of this model, allowing the fire control unit to serve as the serialized component. On this example, the slide, chassis, and barrel carry matching serials, and the factory label confirms the exact SKU as EC9459B-U. The VIS optics-ready direct-mount interface is cut into the slide and ships with a cover plate bearing the Springfield Armory crest. Paired U-Dot sights consist of a tritium/luminescent front dot with a yellow ring and a U-notch rear with a white U-outline, providing a clear, fast sight picture. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation.
The 4.5-inch barrel is hammer-forged steel with a Melonite treatment and a 1:10 twist, and it is non-threaded. The pistol uses a striker-fired, short-recoil, locked-breech action. The slide wears a Melonite black finish to match the overall black presentation.
Ergonomics and controls include a black polymer frame with textured grip surfaces and interchangeable backstraps, an ambidextrous slide stop, and a reversible magazine release. A 5-slot Picatinny accessory rail is integrated into the dustcover. Capacity is 20+1 with the included 20-round magazine, and the package also includes a 17-round magazine; base pads include a mix of extended and flush types.
