It includes four factory 24-round extended magazines, and the slide features FN's Low-Profile Optics Mounting System with the cover plate installed.

The 509 Tactical platform here is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm with a two-tone finish: a dark slide over a light gray polymer frame. It is built in the USA, with the slide marked "FN COLUMBIA, SC USA" and the barrel hood marked "9x19." Ambidextrous slide stop levers and an interchangeable backstrap system (medium installed) support adaptable handling.
The 4.5-inch stainless steel barrel is cold hammer-forged, threaded 1/2x28, and finished with a recessed target crown. A Parker Mountain Machine compensator is installed on the threaded muzzle. Tall suppressor-height iron sights consist of a front post and a U-notch rear with a white outline, and a loaded chamber indicator provides a clear status check.
The slide includes front and rear cocking serrations, an external extractor, and FN's Low-Profile Optics Mounting System with the cover plate installed. The pistol features a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail with three slots on the dustcover, along with a QR code label as marked from the factory.
Ergonomics and control are enhanced by the installed flared magazine well and the flat-faced Apex trigger shoe. Capacity is 24+1 with the included extended magazines, and the firearm ships with four factory 24-round mags featuring orange followers.
