This Officer's ACP is a first-year (1985) production pistol with an FA-prefix serial, made in the USA. It uses the compact Officer-length format with a factory 3.5-inch barrel and retains the traditional barrel-bushing system on its shortened slide. The matte silver finish is applied to both the slide and the steel frame for a uniform look.
The pistol follows the MK IV/Series 80 pattern with a single-action, short-recoil operating system. Safety features include a thumb safety, grip safety, and Series 80 firing-pin safety. It is fitted with a Commander-style rowel hammer and a short, solid, non-skeletonized trigger.
The slide has rear-only vertical cocking serrations, a separate barrel bushing, and an Officer-length recoil system that uses a short recoil spring plug. Sights are a fixed three-dot arrangement with a staked front dot and a dovetailed rear two-dot.
Ergonomics and handling are enhanced by a flat, serrated mainspring housing and a smooth frontstrap. The pistol wears Pachmayr Signature wraparound rubber grips with Colt medallions. Capacity is 7+1 with the included single-stack magazines.
