This Colt SAA is a Custom Shop, SASS-marked special-order revolver in .44-40 Win., built during the late 3rd Generation period. It carries the SASS serial marking format and retains the classic 4.75 inch barrel length favored on traditional Single Action Army configurations.
The finish is factory blued on the barrel, ejector housing, and cylinder, paired with a color case-hardened steel frame and hammer. Black checkered hard-rubber "eagle" grips with Rampant Colt medallions complete the factory-correct presentation.
Features include a six-shot fluted cylinder, crosspin base pin latch, right-side loading gate, and traditional single-action lockwork with a four-click hammer cycle. The fixed sighting system consists of a blade front and a fixed groove/notch integral to the top strap.
Factory rollmarks are present: left barrel "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44-40," top barrel address "COLT'S P.F.A. MFG. CO., HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.," and the frame patent legend with Rampant Colt. The revolver was manufactured in 2001 in the USA.
