The 24-inch heavy barrel is cold hammer-forged, straight-taper, and non-threaded, finished in matte bluing. Its 1:9 twist rate is set up for a wide range of .223 Rem loads. The absence of iron sights keeps the top of the barrel clean and complements the integral 16 mm receiver dovetails for scope rings.
The grey/black laminated thumbhole stock is built for stability and repeatable positioning. It includes a wide beavertail forend, a Monte Carlo comb for consistent cheek weld, and a rubber recoil pad. Length of pull is 14.0 inches.
The action is a right-hand bolt with controlled-round feed and an external claw extractor, paired with a two-position safety. A single-set trigger gives the shooter a crisp primary pull with the option to set it for an even lighter break.
Capacity is 5+1 and this rifle includes three steel 5-round detachable box magazines. The receiver and barrel are matte blued, and the rifle bears Czech proof marks along with a "MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC" marking on the barrel shank just ahead of the receiver ring (left side) with serial C095736. The Thumbhole Varmint variant was discontinued in 2016, and the 527 line concluded production in 2021.
