Built for the .30 Carbine cartridge, the AutoMag III offers a distinctive chambering in a robust stainless steel platform. The slide and frame show brushed flats with matte bead-blast surfaces, complemented by rear diagonal slide serrations and a large ejection port for positive handling and reliable ejection.
The pistol uses a single-action only, short-recoil, locked-breech mechanism with a manual thumb safety and a serrated spur hammer. Its detachable single-column magazine provides a 7+1 capacity. An extended dust cover runs nearly to the muzzle, and an exposed round guide-rod plug sits under the barrel at the front.
Iron sights include a ramped front blade and an adjustable rear unit for windage and elevation. Black grooved polymer grip panels provide a firm hold. Factory markings include left slide text reading "AUTOMAG III .30 CARBINE" and right slide text "STAINLESS - MADE IN U.S.A.", with AMT circular logo and Irwindale, CA origin.
The 6.375 inch barrel and full-size layout yield an overall length of approximately 10.75 inches (factory spec). Construction is all stainless steel, with the receiver and frame finished in a matte bead-blast and the slide showing brushed flats for contrast.
