Made by Howa in Japan for Weatherby, this Mark V carries the correct "SOUTH GATE CALIF. MADE IN JAPAN." markings and an H-prefix serial, aligning it with the 1972–1994 production period. The stainless/silver finish and synthetic configuration make it a durable Mark V variant from this well-regarded era.
The action is classic Mark V: a 9-lug bolt with approximately a 54° bolt lift for quick cycling, a fluted bolt body, and a polished bolt knob. It uses an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate and a stated 3+1 capacity, along with a manual safety.
The 26-inch stainless sporter-contour barrel features a recessed crown. Chambered in .270 Weatherby Magnum, this setup delivers the cartridge’s intended performance from a full-length barrel.
The black synthetic Monte Carlo stock provides a solid cheek weld and control, with molded checkering panels, a pistol-grip cap, rubber recoil pad, and sling swivel studs. The rifle is configured without sights and includes the installed one-piece mount and 1-inch rings. Length of pull is 13.25 inches.
