What’s Included
- Ruger-pattern scope rings for the integral M77 receiver dovetails
The RS configuration delivers both factory sights and integral scope bases machined into the receiver, giving you flexibility in how you set up the rifle. The 24 inch blued steel barrel is chambered in 7mm Rem. Mag., and the receiver is clearly marked RUGER M77. This example carries the Southport, Conn. U.S.A.
barrel rollmark.
The original M77 tang-safety action uses a push-feed bolt with an external claw extractor and a plunger ejector. It feeds from an internal 3-round box magazine with a hinged floorplate, with the release inside the trigger guard. The tang safety is positive and easy to access, and Ruger’s angled front guard screw bedding system is employed.
The walnut stock features a pistol-grip profile, point-pattern machine checkering, a black grip cap with Ruger eagle medallion, and a rubber recoil pad. Sling swivel studs are installed. Length of pull is 13.5 inches, and the rifle is a full-size configuration.
Factory iron sights consist of a ramp front sight with bead and a barrel-mounted adjustable rear sight. Integral quarter-rib style receiver dovetails accept the included Ruger-pattern rings. This is a transitional-era example near the end of original M77 tang-safety production, and the provided notes reference 1982; the serial range indicates 1992 manufacture within the tang-safety series.
