This Nighthawk Custom Counselor from the Ambassador Series is an officer-size 9mm 1911 built under the One Gun, One Gunsmith approach. It features a 3.5 in bushing-fit barrel with a fluted, polished hood and a full-length solid guide rod, paired with an aluminum frame finished in matte black. Heinie Straight Eight night sights and the model’s patented Flush-Fit Magwell with positive front slide serrations round out the carry-focused design. This example adds an ambidextrous thumb safety, high-gloss polished small controls, and custom dark grip panels with Nighthawk medallions. Matching factory QC checklist and test targets are included.

The Counselor is purpose-built as a compact 1911 with carry refinements. Its slide receives a dehorned carry treatment with rear cocking serrations and short forward serrations, delivering confident manipulation without excess bulk. The patented Flush-Fit Magwell maintains a minimal profile while speeding reloads, a hallmark of the model.
The barrel system is a bushing-fit design with a fluted, polished hood and a full-length solid guide rod and plug, providing a clean presentation and smooth cycling. Small controls have been polished to a high-gloss finish, and a skeletonized commander-style hammer complements the streamlined setup.
Controls and safeties are set up for practical use. An ambidextrous thumb safety has been installed, and the grip safety features a memory bump for a consistent disengagement. Custom dark grip panels with Nighthawk medallions provide a secure, attractive interface with the pistol.
Heinie Straight Eight night sights are standard, combining a tritium front with a Slant Pro rear and a 5.14 in sight radius for a crisp, simple sight picture. The matte black aluminum frame keeps weight to 27.9 oz empty while preserving the familiar 1911 handling. Capacity is 8+1 in 9mm, with overall dimensions of 7.01 in in length, 5.12 in in height, and 1.10 in in width.
This pistol comes with matching factory QC paperwork and test targets. A Southern Trapper leather IWB holster with Ulticlip is included, along with packaged Nighthawk OEM grip panels and nine 8-round Nighthawk magazines. Made in the USA.
