Imported before the 1989 U.S. semi-auto rifle import ban, this AKS-762 retains hallmark pre-ban features, including its threaded muzzle and integral underfolding spike bayonet. It is the sought-after "Spiker" configuration from State Factory 386, with the circled 386 trunnion stamp and a CW-prefix serial consistent with its late-1980s origin.
The rifle uses a stamped steel receiver with a smooth top cover and Chinese rivet pattern, along with magazine well dimples. It follows the Type 56 front-end layout with a 45-degree gas block and vented gas tube. The action is semi-automatic with a long-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt, and it uses a manual safety/selector lever.
Furniture consists of a fixed, light-finished hardwood stock and matching handguards, plus a wood pistol grip. The length of pull is 12.5 in, and a rear sling swivel is fitted. The metal surfaces wear a blued finish that complements the classic Chinese configuration.
Sights are iron, with an open-ear front post and a tangent U-notch rear slider marked with Arabic numerals. The barrel measures approximately 16.3 in and is threaded with a detent; a perforated cylindrical muzzle device is installed. Capacity is 30+1 with standard AK-pattern magazines.
