Built on a WWI-era U.S. M1917 Eddystone receiver, this rifle retains the robust M1917 action with cock-on-close operation. The bolt shows the model’s distinctive dog-leg handle and long external extractor, and the receiver is blued steel with a polished bright bolt body. Capacity is 4+1, fed from a hinged floorplate.
The sporterized walnut stock is configured for hunting with a right-side shadowline cheekpiece, white-line spacers at the buttplate and fore-end cap, and an ebony/black fore-end tip. It includes fixed sling swivels and a steel serrated buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches, providing a comfortable fit for field use. An inletted circular metal disc is set into the belly of the stock.
The sighting system is purpose-built for sporting use. The receiver’s rear sight ears have been milled off, and the left side is drilled and tapped for the installed micrometer aperture rear sight. The barrel rear sight has been removed, and a ramped front sight with a brass bead is fitted. There are no scope bases or rings installed.
Chambered in .30-06 with a 24 inch barrel and finished in blued steel, this rifle balances classic U.S. military heritage with practical hunting upgrades. Safety is via a flag safety. The receiver ring is rollmarked "U.S. MODEL OF 1917 EDDYSTONE," underscoring its American WWI origins.
