The Mohawk Brown variant pairs a blued stamped steel receiver cover with a marbled DuPont Zytel-101 nylon frame and stock. It includes molded checkering, an ivory/white fore-end diamond inlay, a pistol-grip cap medallion, and a buttplate loading port for the tubular magazine.
Its simple blowback, semi-automatic action feeds from a 14-round buttstock magazine (14+1 when chambered) with right-side ejection and a right-side reciprocating charging handle. The steel barrel measures 19.5 inches, and the length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Factory iron sights include a ramped front blade with protective ears and an adjustable rear leaf on the receiver cover. The receiver cover also features twin 3/8-inch dovetail grooves for tip-off scope mounts.
According to factory literature, the rifle measures approximately 38.5 inches overall and weighs about 4 lb 8 oz. The Nylon 66 series was introduced in 1959 and produced into the late 1980s, and this model was made in the United States. Serial number exempt.
