Made in Romania in 1960, this SKS is a Cugir-built Model 56 with factory triangle-with-arrow proof. The receiver is roll-stamped "RD725 - 1960," the bolt carrier is matching "RD725" with inspector letter "E," and the receiver cover is mismatched "CD 400." The buttstock shows rack and inspection stamps, including a five-point star. No importer’s mark is visible in the provided views.
It follows the SKS-pattern system with a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston and tilting bolt in 7.62x39. The steel barrel measures 20.5" and is paired with iron sights: a post front in a banded base (hood missing) and a tangent rear sight with a graduated elevation ladder.
Key military features remain, including the intact bayonet lug with the integral folding blade bayonet. The muzzle shows external threads with no device installed. The receiver and barrel are steel, and the rifle is configured on a one-piece hardwood stock.
This example has been sporterized with a perforated, ventilated metal handguard replacing the original wood, and a black rubber recoil pad added at the butt. The fixed SKS magazine body has been removed; capacity is 1 round as configured. The stock shows a right-side fore-end finger groove and a left-side buttstock sling loop. Length of pull measures 13.5".
