The shotgun uses Ithaca’s bottom-ejecting design with the slide release located ahead of the trigger on the right. It is chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells and has a 2+1 capacity. The 28 inch plain (non-rib) barrel is marked MOD and ROTO FORGED, paired with an orange Ray-Bar style front bead.
Manufactured in 1971 at Ithaca, New York, this example bears Ithaca anvil proof marks and a PROOF TESTED barrel marking. Its serial number falls well above Ithaca’s 855,000 threshold for interchangeable barrels. As a pre-1975 Model 37, it retains the original no-disconnector ("slam-fire") trigger system.
The Featherlight aesthetic is present throughout, including factory engraving with an upland game scene depicting a dog and flushing birds. The walnut pistol-grip stock features pressed checkering, fleur-de-lis accents, and a black grip cap with a gold Ithaca medallion. The matching walnut slide handle/forend also carries pressed checkering for a consistent, traditional look.
