The ZPAPM70 is built on a stamped AK-pattern receiver with a bulged RPK-style front trunnion and 1.5 mm receiver spec for added rigidity. It features a ribbed top cover, a gas block with a cleaning-rod channel and bayonet lug, and a front sight base with open-ear protectors and a lightening cut.
The 16.3-inch barrel is cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, and threaded M14x1 LH, offering durability and easy compatibility with devices that use this thread pattern. The current muzzle device carries a USA stamp.
Furniture includes red-stained hardwood handguards with three elongated cooling slots and a side-folding, skeletonized triangular metal stock with a ribbed metal buttplate. The length of pull measures 12.0 inches, and the rifle uses a textured polymer pistol grip with the "TD" logo.
Controls and sights are classic and practical: a right-side charging handle, a manual safety lever with a bolt-hold-open notch, and selector markings for SAFE/FIRE.
