This Marlin Model 1895G Guide Gun in .45-70 Govt. is a 2005 North Haven, Connecticut production carbine with an 18.5-inch round barrel, blued finish, and wood furniture. It features Ballard-type 6-groove rifling and a solid-top receiver drilled and tapped for scope bases. A hammer spur extension is installed.
The lever-action uses a standard-size lever, external hammer, and cross-bolt safety. It feeds from a full-length 4+1 tubular magazine via a right-side loading gate and ejects to the side through a solid-top receiver. The bolt body is left in the white.
The 18.5-inch barrel is round, unported, and unthreaded, with a 1:20 twist and Ballard-type rifling. Sights include a hooded ramp front and a semi-buckhorn rear with elevator.
The wood stock has a straight grip with checkering, a diamond wrist panel, and a ventilated recoil pad. A matching wood fore-end and sling swivel studs are fitted. The metal wears a blued finish.
