This Mike-9 is built on the AR-9 platform and uses a straight blowback action designed for 9mm Luger. It feeds from Glock-pattern magazines and is equipped with an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release, an ambidextrous safety selector, and an enlarged/extended bolt catch.
The 16 inch barrel is threaded and fitted with a multi-port brake/compensator. This setup offers flexibility for muzzle devices and provides a balanced, carbine-length configuration.
Its free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard includes a QD sling cup and short 12 o'clock Picatinny segments. The upper receiver is a slick-side design with no forward assist or dust cover, and it features a long top Picatinny rail.
