Built on the SKS platform and chambered in 7.62x39, this Type 56 is a Factory 26 rifle from the Jianshe Arsenal. The arsenal triangle "26" and Chinese characters "五六式" confirm its origin and model. Import markings read "SKS 7.62X39 MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO POLY USA ATL, GA."
The rifle operates via a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a tilting bolt and a steel receiver. It has a 20.5-inch barrel and a fixed internal 10-round magazine with a hinged floorplate. A safety tab is positioned inside the trigger guard.
Configurable military features are intact, including the folding in-the-white triangular spike bayonet with the correct lug and knurled collar, as well as the under-barrel cleaning rod. The hardwood full-length stock carries a triangular cartouche marked "2" and left-side sling swivels. The wooden upper handguard has three ventilation slots per side.
Iron sights include a hooded front post with protective ears and elevation adjustment, paired with a tangent rear sight leaf graduated 1–10. The length of pull measures 12.5 inches.
