The VGX Deluxe grade brings classic Weatherby styling with its gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock, raised right-hand cheekpiece, and fine-line checkering. Rosewood accents include a forend tip with spacer and a pistol-grip cap featuring a white diamond inlay and spacer, complemented by a ventilated recoil pad and sling swivel studs.
This right-handed, Japanese-made Vanguard was built by Howa for Weatherby and is chambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum. It uses an internal magazine with a hinged floorplate for a 3+1 capacity and features a 24-inch blued barrel.
The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases and the rifle is configured with no iron sights. Markings include "MADE IN JAPAN" and "SOUTH GATE, CALIFORNIA," reflecting Weatherby’s branding of the period.
