This 4-inch model pairs a 7075-T6 aluminum-alloy frame with a steel barrel liner/shroud and a steel, flat-sided hexagonal cylinder. It features fiber-optic sights, an integral Picatinny accessory rail, and precise Italian manufacture and proof marks.

The Rhino’s low bore-axis system is the hallmark of this design, placing the barrel in line with the shooter’s hand through the bottom cylinder chamber to reduce muzzle rise. This 4-inch 40DS version adds a vented barrel shroud and an integral Picatinny accessory rail on the underlug for easy mounting options.
The revolver operates in double-action/single-action with an internal hammer and an external cocking lever that returns forward after cocking. Sights are fast and precise: a red fiber-optic front pairs with a fully adjustable rear that is clearly marked for U/D and R adjustments.
Construction is robust and weight-conscious. The frame and receiver are 7075-T6 aluminum alloy in a matte black finish, while the barrel liner/shroud and the six-shot, flat-sided hexagonal cylinder are steel with a dark finish. The one-piece walnut grip features checkering/stippling and a Chiappa medallion.
This revolver is made in Italy and is marked accordingly, including Italian proof marks and a Chiappa Firearms, Dayton, OH import stamp. It is additionally marked 'Made in Italy by Chiappa Firearms.'
