Introduced in 2012 as the Tactical variant of the FNX-45, this model traces its lineage to FN's FNP-45 developed for the JCP program. It is manufactured in Columbia, South Carolina, with the slide marked "FN Columbia, SC USA."
The 5.3 inch stainless barrel is cold hammer forged, extended, and threaded .578x28 TPI. Suppressor-height tritium 3-dot night sights align over the can, and the slide is optics-cut with front and rear serrations for confident manipulation.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the magazine release and the ambidextrous manual safety/decocker. The pistol uses a DA/SA, hammer-fired system with an external ring-style spur. The polymer frame integrates replaceable steel rails and features an accessory rail for lights or lasers.
Ergonomics are configurable via four total interchangeable backstraps. Capacity is 15+1 in .45 ACP, and this example includes five FN factory steel magazines, optic mounts, and an FN-branded soft zip case with the owner's manual.
