The 16-inch barrel is made from 4140 steel and treated with Armornite, with the muzzle threaded and the barrel clearly stamped "5.56 NATO 1/9." The 1:9 twist supports a broad range of common 5.56/.223 bullet weights, and the chambering is compatible with .223 Remington.
Upper receiver details include a T-marked flat-top Picatinny rail with "S&W" marking, a forward assist, and an ejection-port dust cover. Iron sights consist of an A2-style front sight base paired with a polymer flip-up rear sight (MBUS-style).
The rifle uses a semi-automatic, direct impingement operating system and accepts standard AR-15/STANAG pattern magazines. One 30-round Magpul PMAG AR/M4 GEN M3 magazine is included to match the 30+1 capacity.
