Built on a Mauser Oberndorf Gewehr 98 large-ring controlled-round-feed action and rebarreled to .22-250 Rem, this custom sporter combines classic German engineering with a purpose-built varmint cartridge. It features a Haig Ace-marked 23.5 inch blued sporter barrel with a recessed crown, a turned-down jeweled bolt, and a walnut Monte Carlo stock with cheekpiece and Pachmayr White Line pad. Receiver markings read "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.-G. OBERNDORF A/N." and "Gew. 98."

The Gewehr 98 receiver is Oberndorf-marked and retains the large-ring, controlled-round-feed design with a staggered-column internal magazine rated for 5 rounds. The receiver ring has been drilled and tapped, with two plugged holes visible. Factory-style markings include "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.-G. OBERNDORF A/N." and "Gew. 98."
The rifle is rebarreled to .22-250 Rem with a barrel marked "Haig Ace 22-250." The 23.5 inch sporter-contour barrel is blued, carries a recessed crown, and has an unthreaded muzzle. There are no iron sights.
The bolt features a turned-down round knob and a jeweled body. The blued finish extends across the barreled action. The bottom metal underside is stamped "18851" and "06."
The walnut Monte Carlo sporter stock includes a cheekpiece, contrasting forend tip with spacer lines, a pistol grip with a dark grip cap, and sling swivel studs. A Pachmayr White Line ventilated recoil pad with spacer is fitted, and the length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
