The Hellion uses a bullpup configuration to achieve a short overall length of 28.25–29.75 inches while retaining a 16-inch barrel. The CMV steel barrel is Melonite treated and threaded 1/2x28, and it ships with a 4-prong flash hider. Twist rate is 1:7, and the rifle weighs about 8 lb.
A short-stroke gas piston drives the action, paired with a two-position adjustable gas block marked Normal/Suppressed. This setup gives the user simple, tool-free gas selection for different ammunition and suppressed use.
Controls are designed for bilateral use: ambidextrous safety selector, bolt release, and magazine release, plus a non-reciprocating, folding charging handle set forward in the carry-handle channel. The ejection system is reversible, and the rifle accepts STANAG/AR-15 magazines; capacity is 30+1.
Mounting and furniture features include a full-length 1913 Picatinny top rail with index marks and a polymer handguard with M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. Integrated flip-up iron sights are included: an elevation-adjustable front and a windage-adjustable rear with a 5-position aperture. Multiple QD sling points, an adjustable five-position stock with cheek riser, and a rubber buttplate round out the handling features; length of pull is 16.25 inches.
