What’s Included
- Remington Nylon 76 Trailrider .22 LR lever-action rifle (manufactured 1962)
Remington released the Nylon 76 Trailrider in 1962 as part of its Nylon series, and it remains the company’s sole lever-action rifle. Production ran only from 1962 to 1965, with approximately 26,927 made. This rifle was manufactured in 1962 during the era when many rimfire models were exempt from serial numbering, adding period-correct authenticity.
The rifle uses Remington’s Mohawk Brown marbled Zytel nylon for the stock and frame components, paired with blued steel for the barrel and receiver cover. The stock features molded checkering, white line spacers, white diamond fore-end inlays, and a pistol-grip cap medallion. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches.
A short-throw lever of roughly 30 degrees was promoted for fast cycling. The sliding tang safety includes a red fire indicator for clear status at a glance. The tubular magazine is housed in the buttstock and holds 14 rounds of .22 LR, loaded through a port in the buttplate.
Sighting is via open sights, with a hooded ramp front and a barrel-mounted adjustable rear leaf. The receiver cover top includes twin 3/8 inch tip-off scope grooves. The 19.5 inch steel barrel is marked "PAT. PEND Remington 22 L.R. ONLY," consistent with early production details.
